Charges in Gauge Theories
Recent progress in the construction of both electric, coloured and magnetic charges in gauge theories will be presented. The topological properties of the charged sectors will be highlighted as well as the applications of this work to confinement and infrared dynamics.
متن کاملMonopole spectra in non – Abelian gauge theories
We study the continuum limit of the length spectrum of magnetic monopole structures found after various Abelian projections of pure gauge SU (2), including the maximally Abelian gauge. We comment on Gribov copies, and measurements of the string tension.
متن کاملMonopole clusters in Abelian projected gauge theories
We show that the monopole currents which one obtains in the maximally Abelian gauge of SU(2) fall into two quite distinct classes (when the volume is large enough). In each field configuration there is precisely one cluster that permeates the whole lattice volume. It has a current density and a magnetic screening mass that scale and it produces the whole of the string tension. The remaining clu...
متن کاملGauge–invariant Charged, Monopole and Dyon Fields in Gauge Theories
We propose explicit recipes to construct the euclidean Green functions of gauge– invariant charged, monopole and dyon fields in four–dimensional gauge theories whose phase diagram contains phases with deconfined electric and/or magnetic charges. In theories with only either abelian electric or magnetic charges, our construction is an euclidean version of Dirac's original proposal, the magnetic ...
متن کاملHierarchy of Interactions in Unified Gauge Theories
We are really measuring the sum of the cross sections vpver+Em and ppvpm. ln, l ~ 0, but since our neutrino spectrum peaks at 500 MeV/c and is down by an order of magnitude by 1500 MeV/c, we expect the contribution of the final states with additional m. 's to be very small. J. Campbell et al. , Phys. Bev. Lett. 30, 385 (1973). More details of the experiment are given by S. J. Barish, Argonne Na...
